Dear Grade 2B Top Dogs,
We are a second grade class from Maine who have been learning about the Arctic. Because we wanted to know more, we searched for a classroom near the Arctic Circle to communicate with and found your neat blog.
After visiting your blog, we noticed that we have a lot in common. Just last week, our class went snowshoeing during P.E.! For fun in Maine during the winter, we snowboard, ski, play hockey, build forts and go sledding. In the summer, we play at the beach and lakeshore. We climb trees, bike, have play dates, and scooter too. We’d like to know what you do for fun at home during the different seasons of the year? During our Arctic study we learned about umiaks. Do you have one? We have kayaks, but we’ve never had an umiak.
Our school days appear to be similar too. We work on reading, writing, math, and spelling. We have a time for share each day, it’s during our snack time. During recess, we play kickball, four square, and tag. What do you do during your school day?
The animals of Maine are wonderful. We have a wide variety of birds. The chickadee is our state bird. Outside we often see gray squirrels and bugs! For pets we have cats, dogs, fish, birds, and hamsters. We’d enjoy learning about the animals and pets you have in Manitoba.
Finally, we have a weather blog and a class web page, if you’d like to know more about us. The links are below.
